When it comes to a fabrics like wool, it is important to care for it properly to keep it in good condition. We recommend checking each item’s care label for specific washing instructions before attempting to launder. The first step in taking proper care of wool garments is to always turn inside out before washing, which will help slow down any pilling or wear of the fabric. Most wool is washable, with the main exception of structured pieces like suits, jackets and blazers, which are best spot cleaned. For wool that is suitable for washing, use a pH neutral detergent and select a gentle cycle on the machine with a temperature of 30°C or less to mimic the actions of traditional hand washing. To minimize the risk of shrinkage, it is advised to soak in cold water before you put in the machine. Dry naturally away from heat and strong direct sunlight. Knitted items should not be hung, instead fold and store out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry place. The Row has a wide range of knitwear to choose from. Shop our edit today.
