How to Care for Your Herno Jacket

Most Herno jacket care labels advise you to dry clean or hand wash your garment. This helps to ensure the jacket’s quality and prolong its life. If your jacket is hand wash only, follow our steps below.

• Submerge your jacket into a sink full of cold water and soap.

• Gently push down on the jacket to release the dirt, repeating this several times.

• Leave the jacket to soak for 20 minutes.

• Let the water out and rinse the jacket until the soap is removed.

• Squeeze the jacket to remove excess water, being careful not to damage the material

• Depending on the care label, tumble dry your jacket on a gentle, low-heat cycle. To fluff the feathers, place two or three tennis balls inside the machine as you tumble dry your jacket.

• Alternatively, flat dry or hang dry your jacket, making sure you shake the garment every so often to prevent the down from clumping inside.

What is Herno Laminar?

Herno Laminar is the brand’s collection of jackets that incorporate GORE-TEX® technology. Combining Herno’s luxurious aesthetic with superior performance, these jackets are water- and wind-resistant. They feature technical details, such has water-resistant tapered seams, waterproof internal pockets and elasticated knitted cuffs to keep the wind out.

Where are Herno jackets made?

The Herno headquarters are based in Italy’s lakeside town of Lesa, which is where all Herno garments are produced. Its lakeside climate, where wind, rain and cold temperatures characterise its winters, is perfect for for stress-testing their garments.

Are Herno jackets warm?

Herno use goose feathers and down, which creates small pockets of air inside the jacket to trap warm air and keep the body temperature warm. Goose feather is regarded as one of the best natural insulators due to its superior warmth-to-weight ratio, breathability and ability to retain its loft.
